Protractor Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Protractor app for iPhone ("the app"), published by Writelogic ("we", "us"), handles your information.

Summary

We do not collect, store or receive any personal information. Your measurements and settings stay on your device. The free version shows adverts provided by Google, and Google may collect some data to show and measure those adverts, as described below. Protractor Pro removes adverts entirely.

Information stored on your device

The app reads the angle of your iPhone's hinge to show measurements. It stores your settings (such as sound and calibration) and any measurements you choose to save, including notes. This information is kept only on your device and is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.

The app has no accounts, does not use your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos, and contains no analytics of its own.

Adverts (free version)

The free version displays banner adverts using Google AdMob. To show, limit and measure adverts and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as your device's IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), device and operating system details, an advertising-related identifier, interactions with adverts, and crash and performance data.

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised adverts are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy options. The app does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so Apple's advertising identifier is not shared.

If you buy Protractor Pro, the app stops showing adverts and no longer starts Google's advertising software.

Purchases

Protractor Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we do not receive your payment details or Apple ID. The app only checks with Apple whether Pro has been purchased. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Sharing

If you choose to copy or share a saved measurement, it is passed to the app or service you choose, and that app's own privacy policy applies.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
